So why learn to ride now?

After years of trying to make this happen. Why now?

Three things came together in the perfect storm:

1. I finally got sick and tired of the morning commute on the D Train. It’s a zoo, and it’s only getting worse.

2. I figured that in this economy, it might be a good time to get a deal on a Vespa.

3. And this is what really sealed the deal. A curious visit to vespausa.com introduced me to the brand new Vespa S150. Love at first site.

When Vespa introduced the ET4 to the States a couple of years back, my interest was piqued, but I hated the design. It just didn’t feel like a Vespa to me after years of ogling PX125s in my native England. It just felt way too sleek (like a cut-away) and almost like a Japanese bike and the oval headlamp just didn’t say “Vespa.” When I saw that square headlight on the “S” I was immediately hooked. Here was a bike that reminded me of the Lambrettas I had drooled over in the past, but with all the modern conviniences of a contemporary scoot. Odd that it was the Lambretta look that attracted me to the Vespa. Also it just felt sleeker, over the past couple of years many of the modern Vespas felt to me like they needed a tummy-tuck.

Further more – the kicker. My suspicions about a deal were true. Zero down, Zero payments and Zero interest for six months. I figured that was enough time to save up the cash and cover the cost before that APR hit.
