10 tips if you’re thinking of buying a scooter.
During the Great Gas Crunch of ’08, scooters made the news much more than at any point in previous years as folks who had previously not considered a scooter as a viable commuting vehicle.
Thanks to this fact, a few short but helpful articles appeared for the rookie scooterist.
MSNBC published a particularly helpful and succinct top ten tips squarely aimed at those of you considering the move to two wheels as part of your daily commute, and therefore do a nice job framing the issues faced by the urban scooterist.

Check on the rules for parking scooters at your place of employment and near your home. Street parking may be an option for you, but you’ll have to weigh the risks of the scooter being defaced or knocked over. Also, some parking garages won’t allow scooters at all, and if they do, they may charge the same fees that they charge for regular cars.
