Now, file this one under “just plain weird”, but it involves scooters, and the tri-state area, so we’re there:

On Saturday, Continental Airlines invited the Piaggio North American Group to Newark International Airport to give some of its employees a test-drive experience with the company’s latest family of scooters in an effort to evangelize the scoots as both a green and economical form of transportation.

While we here at NYCScootering are clearly happy to hear of any opportunity for the world to hear our plea, one has to wonder, why Continental Airlines. Still I can’t help wishing I’d gotten to take one of those brand new Vespas out on the airport tarmac. That’s some serious space to play, just watch out for the 747s.

If nothing else, the original article over at nj.com is worth a read through the effusive comments section. Enjoy.
