Scooter Newbie: Backed-over already

One week. One week? That’s all it took for my brand new scoot to be backed over by a car driver who needs to learn how to parallel park, or check their rear-view mirror or both.

I knew this was going to happen eventually, but come on – one week? I haven’t made a single payment on the thing yet. I haven’t taken a single photograph yet.

Ah well. Perhaps it’s better to learn not to get too precious about the thing sooner rather than later. But seriously folks? One week!

I parked it on W23rd Street on Sunday morning for an two hours, and came back to find it exactly where I left it. Except I’d sat on the bike before noticing that the left wing-mirror was bent and smashed. At first I was just plain confused, but then – sure enough – ouges into the cowl on the left side and a clear bash-mark on the right foot well. Sheesh. At least someone had picked it back up again. The driver? I’ll never know.

Man.
