With my thoughts now turning to bringing my new purchase back to its former luster, it’s research time.

A number of folks have time-and-time-again pointed me in the direction of Richard Hoar’s excellent P-series resource – the aptly titled vespamaintenance.com. An absolutely critical bookmark in any Vespa fan’s favorites list.

While the site concentrates on the P-series, much of the invaluable information here is appropriate across a wide range of Vespas and other makes and models.

Richard’s site covers everything from changing and reading your spark plug to dropping the engine out of your bike to how a 2-stroke engine works. Head on over and take a read. Even if you have no intention of stripping your bike down you’ll come away with a lot more knowledge about how everything works.
