Coming from scooterlounge.com, an excellent site we haven’t profiled before, is a great tutorial on replacing worn out brake shoes on Vespa P-series scoots and similar.

The tutorial works through the back brakes of the scoot but the run-through applies equally well to the front drum brakes too.

Conspicuously missing from the article is the fact that you’ll need to jack the back of your scooter up some how to prevent it from toppling back when you remove the back wheel (ideally after you’ve loosen the 22mm nut holding the hub to the axle,) but other than that it goes into all the useful info you’ll need.

Check out the step-by-step article here.
