Motorcycle Safety School season begins March 1st
We’ve just gotten word from the folks at New York’s Motorcycle Safety School that this year’s season will begin next month on the first.
The MSS offers a number of motorcycle and scooter orientated beginner and safety classes, most prominent of which being the nationally recognized Motocycle Safety Foundation Basic RiderCourse. The three day course based at the MSS’s center in Mott Haven in the Bronx combines classroom and motorcycle range lessons and culminates in an on-site exam that allows participants to waive the need to take a DMV motorcycle test.
New this year, following some extended delays last season: Folks who pass the test will be given their test waivers on the spot, allowing them to walk into the DMV immediately and get licensed.
You can read all about my experiences with the Basic RiderCourse here and here.
