Bloomberg news has an amusing story that shouldn’t be a surprise to any NYC scooterist: when it comes to the traffic-snarled streets of Manhattan, a scooter will beat a sports car any day of the week.

Starting at 39th St. and Park Avenue and ending at 59th St. and Lex, Bloomberg’s Matt Miller even uses the opportunity to make a few shopping stops along the route while fellow journalists Carol Massar and Jason Harper get overconfident with their distractions.

The video is an amusing mash-up of a review of the Vespa’s features and mileage and a race of sorts, but when it comes down to the serious part: congestion Matt’s Vespa GTS beat his colleague’s Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet hands down. Lane-splitting fines be damned.
