As previously reported – once again, the MTA are raising prices this weekend, with the $2.00 standard ride fare rising to $2.25 at 12.01am Sunday morning. Needless to say, all other fares, including monthly unlimited cards also rise.

Even though there were a few spots of rain on the morning commute today, I sure hope you were out there supporting National Ride To Work Day.

Another reason to make the switch to two wheels?

The New York Times is reporting that the MTA’s financial woes may be worse than many had feared, leading to a potential second fare increase before 2009 is out.

As if you needed another reason to fire up your scoot this Spring. From Gothamist:
The MTA board is about to vote on a series of severe fare hikes and service cuts for subway, bus and rail commuters, as the State Legislature hasn’t agreed on a plan to help out the MTA.
