Nice to see a Lammy on CL. They don’t come around very often here in the US let alone NYC. This one is appropriately priced a $4500 making her more of a collectors item than a daily runner, but if you’ve been itching to get your hands on one of these classics, here’s your chance.

Quadrophenia scooter sold at auction

The 1967 Lambretta Li150 series 3 ridden by Jimmy the Mod (AKA actor Phil Daniels) has just been sold for the princely sum of 36,000 pounds sterling at UK auction house Bonhams.

According to the poster, it is suffering some rust damage, but only superficially. All in all though, it looks like a very nice scoot. Let us know if you’re lucky enough to get to see it in person. Also of note is that it’s of Brazilian origin.

So you’re thinking of buying a vintage scoot?

I can tell you from personal experience that the reason I run around on a modern Vespa is because I used to do it on a vintage Lambretta. And that wasn’t for show, it was my primary mode of transportation and therein lay my mistake. 9 times out of 10 my bike was either in the shop or the garage for a tinkering. Now admittedly, the bike had “problems.”
My policy moving forward? A modern scoot for the day-to-day, a vintage for weekend glamor.
