This morning I am a happy man (sort of). My usual Midtown parking spot, which has slowly been attracting motorcycles and scooters, has reached an all-time high with 4 bikes and 4 scooters including a vintage Vespa GS. If this isn’t a sign to Mr. Bloomberg that we are out there and we need dedicated parking, I don’t know what is.

New Yorker’s favorite (only?) online parking regulations finder, PrimoSpot has recently launched it’s iPhone edition.
While you may just as well plant one gigantic “bad idea” to park flag over the entire island of Manhattan, there are a few nuggets of parking to be found. Needless to say, out in the other boroughs, choices open up.

Boston.com today covers the news that the city is cracking down on 50cc scooter owners who have previously registered their bike as a moped under the city’s classification system allowing them to park their ride on the city’s sidewalks, and more importantly use a sticker rather than a full license plate.
