This morning I figured I’d take a slightly different route on my ’85 Vespa PX from the East Village to work in Midtown in an effort to keep things interesting. The exhaust coming off the bike proved to be more interesting.

Battery newbie

Turns out that what I thought was a problem with the flasher unit in my PX was ultimately a simple case of a flat battery. After putting the battery on trickle charge overnight using my Battery Tender everything fired back into life again this morning.

No scoot into work today. The PX has flatly refused to flash a turn signal. They’re all dead. Front, back, left, right. Nothing, nada.

I replaced the back drum brakes on my PX150e last night. All in all the job took about an hour and a half, and certainly went much faster than the front brakes did a couple of weeks ago.
